They have a history of success in achieving essential, but incremental, improvements to the welfare of farmed animals. Now, they are actively campaigning to bring about an end to factory farming this century and you can play a pivotal role. They are seeking a motivated and skilled intern to work within their digital team. You will help us in the conception and production of innovative and appealing media for campaigning, raising awareness and fundraising. You will possess a positive and pro-active approach and be able to work on your own or as part of a small team. Position: Digital Team Intern (Video and Animation Internship) Location: Godalming, Surrey Salary: In the region of £14,000 (pro-rata) Duration: 6 or 12 months Closing Date: 21st March ROLE: The purpose of this role is to help build awareness of Compassion in World Farming anti-factory farming movement through the design and production of compelling online material. RESPONSIBILITIES a) Ensuring that campaign messaging is reflected in storyboard and obtaining buy-in from stakeholders. b) Using relevant software to produce materials as necessary. c) Interpreting facts, statistics and sometimes complex ideas visually. d) Working with the marketing and research teams to develop clear and consistent messaging. e) Translating campaign propositions into a short form animations and/or films (using a combination of archive, new and stock footage). f) Working through edits and iterations with colleagues to produce the best output. g) Identifying channels to reach a wider digital community. h) Reporting on reach of materials in terms of audience size and type. ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: a) A thorough knowledge of media creation software such as Adobe Production Suite. b) An eye for good design, including familiarity with the principles of graphic design, use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks etc. c) The ability to come up with original and inventive ideas. d) A positive, approachable disposition and excellent communication skills. e) Personal motivation inspires energy and commitment throughout the team. f) Pays very close attention to detail. DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: a) Graduate of relevant degree. b) Understanding of Internet technology and communication; experience with blogs, social networking sites and email list communications. c) A familiarity with or qualification in principles of good web design, usability and accessibility. d) Good verbal and written communication skills.
