PURPOSE OF JOB

This role is responsible for planning, specifying, managing and evaluation of online lead generation campaigns, notably paid search (PPC), link building and affiliate work.

RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Identify requirements and define solutions.
  • Help the Practice Areas to shape the requirements brief – confirm the problems that need to be solved, establish and set timeline, budgets and expectations.
  • Work with the Web Design & Development Team to innovate solutions and scope the work to address requirements within the resource and budget available.
  • Clearly articulate how the web can meet the Practice Area strategic objectives and individual initiatives.
  • Define success metrics and identify mechanisms to measure them (with Market/Data Analyst).
  • Task management and getting campaigns delivered.
  • Manage requirements – before, during and after the brief writing process.
  • Steer the project through the Web Design & Development Team process.
  • Identify risks and escalate them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage agreed digital budget for given projects to prevent over-spend, and achieve value-for-money.
  • Test, measure and evaluate activity.
  • Analyse and present results back to the business.
  • Recommend enhancements, multi-variant test ideas or alternative routes-to-market.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and the identification of key performance indicators.
  • Use results to help champion and grow the web channel.
  • Performance appraisal – to comply with the firm’s Performance Appraisal Policy and to meet all performance targets set and follow all recommendations and instructions made at review interview and as set out in the review interview form.
  • FIRMS’ POLICIES AND PROCEDURES – to comply with all the firm’s policies and procedures and with all reasonable instructions and requests made by any senior member of staff or Department Supervisor and, in particular, comply with the following:
  • o ISO 9001 requirements as set out in the relevant manual;
  • o Health and Safety requirements.
  • o LSC specialist quality mark (where applicable).
  • To comply with all duties and obligations set out in the post holder’s contract of employment and as may be amended (after consultation) by the Partnership from time to time.
  • Carry out any other duties which may from time to time be required of the post holder by any Partner, Senior Member of the firm or Department Supervisor.

Key Interfaces: 

  • BD&C Marketing Manager – fully understand Practice Areas business model; assist non web-savvy teams, to promote best practice, keep all informed of marketplace and industry trends and activity.
  • Customer Support Unit – communicate project scope and identify customer support requirements.
  • External Agencies – ensure integration, in every sense, with the work of the web team. Drive agency efficiencies and manage digital agency delivery and budgets.
  • Market/Data Analyst - campaign and web data processing and analysis.

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Results oriented with a track record in evolving paid search strategies to continually improve campaign performance of lead generation.
  • Experience in paid search, multi-variant testing, affiliate marketing, display advertising, SEO, social media and website management essential.
  • Good data analysis skills and reporting on campaigns. Need to be highly proficient in excel.
  • Gravitas with the ability to confidently articulate online marketing solutions, new insights and opportunities on a regular basis and anticipating queries effectively.
  • Customer focused with first class interpersonal, presentation, organisational and communication skills capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Inquisitive mind with the ability to extract insights from raw data including Adwords, Analytics & Hitwise and implement strategic pay per click recommendations.

Line management and team development experience highly desirable.
